1. 45 * vs Sri Lanka, Pallekele 2017

MS Dhoni seems to save the best possible for Sri Lanka and this hit came in the previous round between these two teams. India needed to chase 231 in 47 overs in a game tainted by the rain.

An opening partnership of 109 races had put India in the driver’s seat, but then Akila Dananajaya entered the attack and was unleashed in the Indian batting lineup. India was reduced to 131/7 and it seemed that Sri Lanka would get an annoying victory.

But then Dhoni combined with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and touched an opportunity to lead India to victory.

It is said that Dhoni often brings out the best in his fellows and that was the case when he helped Bhuvneshwar reach his half century. Bhuvneshwar later credited Dhoni and said he trained him throughout the coup!

2. 92 * vs South Africa, Indore 2015

Against one of the best bowling attacks in the world, MS Dhoni was India’s only warrior with the bat when he crushed an unbeaten 92 to help India reach 247/9 in what was a fairly flat pitch.

He was well supported by Rahane (51) and Harbhajan Singh (22), but to a large extent it was his solo effort that helped India to assume a total challenge.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Axar Patel took 3 fields each for India, as they fired South Africa by 225 and recorded a memorable victory. Dhoni had a bit of bad luck to lose a century, but was named as the man of the competition for his effort.

3. 79 vs Australia, Chennai 2017

The game could well be remembered for Hardik Pandya’s general heroism that led India to victory, but once again it was MS Dhoni who did the fire work for India in his adoptive city after the The team lost ground in a hurry.

Nathan Coulter-Nile’s opening spell had reduced India to 11/3 and then to 64/4 when Dhoni entered the bat. However, he kept his head cool and then put together an association of 118 races along with Hardik Pandya, again guiding the young man in difficult times.

India eventually managed to reach 281/7 and that proved to be enough since India achieved an easy victory.

4.78 * vs Antillas, Antigua 2017

This match also featured the contributions of Rahane and Jadhav, but what made Dhoni’s effort special was the speed with which he scored those races.

It was a slow and slow release in Antigua, not the most suitable for a player like Dhoni, but despite that, he eliminated 78 of 79 balls. He spun the strike well and helped India to reach 251/4 after 50 overs.

The Indian spinners took full advantage of the conditions with Kuldeep Yadav and Ravinhandran Ashwin collecting three fields each when India dismissed the Windies by 158. It turned out to be a comfortable victory for India at the end and Dhoni was named man of the -partido.

5. 72 * vs Pakistan, Lahore 2006

India was pursuing a rigid goal of 289 and was reduced 190 to 5 in the 35th final when Dhoni joined Yuvraj in the middle.

He broke an unbeaten 72 of just 46 balls and India eventually chased the target with 14 balls to spare thanks in large part to Dhoni’s innings. His blow made amocking the conditions and the casually violent way in which he criticized the Pakistani attack was surprising.

With Yuvraj Singh (79 *) as a company, Dhoni drove the fast with the full face of the bat and pulled hard on the square leg when they fell short. With a flurry of large penises, the chase was completed in the back of Dhoni’s whirlwind 72 in an association of 102 with Yuvraj.
